Limestone or calcium carbonate is a sedimentary rock, dominated by white, gray or yellow. This rock is composed mainly by minerals calcite and aragonite, both having the chemical formula (CaCO3). Limestones generally are formed from biogenic sediments, but may have a genesis training through chemical reactions. Limestones have major economic importance, being used as raw material in the construction industry, they are natural storage tanks for petroleum, natural gas, or rock in karst processes occurring with the formation of caves which are places of tourist attraction.
